The children of Baby crèche, nursery and Kindergarten (since 1984) are instructed with a sense of responsibility, initiative, creativity, social education, autonomy and motivation, with professional and qualified instructors. These young children come from many nations and religions.

The German School sets an example of language diversity (four languages) and administrates currently about 300 students. A multicultural pedagogy extends from the Kindergarten, to upper grades with the Lebanese and French Baccalaureate, and the German Language Diploma –“Sprachdiplom I und II “ in two levels. The pupils will develop the sense of responsibility and respect towards others. They learn to understand, to analyze, to argue, to communicate and to get a sense of independence. Small classes of not more than 25 pupils guarantee the efficiency of the pedagogical methods.

Cultural subjects such as Art and Music (Choir,  Music Ensembles, Flute, Piano, Violin and Guitar) are a predominant part of the general culture education.  In this way, the school fosters special talents. In addition, computer and sports (football, basketball, kung-fu, dance, gymnastics, swimming and skiing …) enrich the global program of teaching.

Every year, the students’ talents are presented publicly in concerts and expositions which are often in the public program of the Kulturzentrum. In this way, the public can be informed of the success of the special German pedagogical program.

The collaboration between the German teachers and the Lebanese instructors who are influenced by the French educational system, leads to a successful symbiosis of two different pedagogical systems.

The aim of the persons in charge of the direction of the school in Jounieh is to rethink the pedagogical contents periodically. Yearly, the German School in Jounieh holds regular workshops in order to modernize and develop the academic methodologies. These workshops focus on different subjects: German, French Arabic and Kindergarten pedagogy and invite instructors from other regional schools. These events offer the possibility to examine and renew the pedagogical system.

In this sense, the spirit of the German school is to maintain connections with modern pedagogical institutions in Germany and Lebanon.
